Searching for the grail

I set out to design the perfect cup, something beautiful, something useful, something holy. It became a grail.

The history of the grail is intriguing and full of mystery, secrets and treasures. Artistic variations of the grail can be found among precious artifacts in exhibitions all over Europe. In the esoteric grail stories the feminine, represented by the cup and the masculine, the stem, is met in perfect union.

Using colored slip to create small drawings, writings or logos each cup becomes unique. Some cups are only glazed on the inside leaving the white porcelain on the outside raw, giving the cup a beautiful mat surface.
